The Disberry-12 complete solution is designed for companies who want to use a portable device for communication with their vehicles, and their planning and tracking.
Various different mobile devices (e.g., HP IPAQ W6500, Nokia 6680 etc.) can be used:
Mobile phones
PDAs with GSM
Smartphones
This solution has the advantage that a second SIM card for a black box in the vehicle is not needed and that a display for text communication is available at a reasonable price.
The disadvantage of this solution is that the device is not permanently installed in the vehicle. This can for example have a negative effect with respect to the tax office's acceptance of the log book data generated.
Prerequisite for using the Disberry-12 is that the chosen device can be programmed in Java and has a Bluetooth interface.
The latter is required for connecting the Bluetooth GPS mouse, if the device does not have a built-in GPS receiver.
All Disberry-12 versions are 100% compatible with our M2M commserver.
This solution combines the following functions:
GPS localization of vehicles
Sending assignment data from planning office to driver
Confirmation of driving assignments by driver
Exchange of text messages between planning office and driver
Instructions for driver with respect to route (if necessary optimized with respect to tolls, bridge heights and loads etc.)
Transfer of status reports (traffic jams, breakdowns, accidents...) at the press of a button
Minimization of communication costs by using GPRS and vehicle installation costs
Voice calls between planning office and driver are possible, but are extensively minimized for cost reasons (e.g., with software-controlled blocking of outgoing calls in mobile device).
Prices can be found in the data sheets in the section Products .
